Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker – PC and PlayStation 4 & 5 – the next expansion to the popular MMORPG

On 6 February 2021, it was announced that the next expansion to the popular Final Fantasy XIV massive multiplayer online role playing game is titled Endwalker. If you played the last expansion and finished all the content up to patch 5.3, you already know that Zenos yae Galvus is making his comeback and it seems that the battle between light and darkness is not quite over (and also that idea that light can be evil).

It also seems that Endwalker will be heavily inspired by Final Fantasy IV as a lot of the themes from that game, including the expansions, are going to be a big part of this expansion. This coincides with the announcement that there will be a new mount, the Lunar Whale, and also three new minions, Edge, Rosa and Rydia (all characters from Final Fantasy IV) being available to purchase through the Mog Station store.

You can watch the trailer for the new expansion below:

Final Fantasy producer Yoshida Naoki also unveiled a new healer job, the Sage. The trailer already confirms that Alphinaud will take up this new job in the expansion. Sage is only one of two new jobs in the expansion. There is one other job to the revealed, but that will come at a later date.

The trailer for the new Sage job is below:

It was also announced that very soon players who own the PlayStation 4 are eligible for a free upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version. The PlayStation 5 version will come with 4K support, improved visuals, and really fast loading, e.g. teleportation speed.

I am looking forward to hearing more about about this expansion and hope you do too.
