Dessert Culture and JetGo Burgers – Clayton – stick to the bingsu

Located along Clayton Road, JetGo Burgers and Dessert Culture presents itself as a promising destination for those craving a fusion of American-style burgers and Korean desserts. However, my recent visit left much to be desired, with lackluster offerings and disappointing flavours overshadowing any potential charm.

Upon entering JetGo Burgers, the ambiance is casual and inviting, with bright decor and a lively atmosphere with arcade claw machines along the entrance. The restaurant boasts a diverse menu, featuring a range of burgers, Philly steaks, Korean bingsu desserts, and snacks like fried popcorn chicken—a tantalizing array that initially piqued my interest plus its rather colourful, enticing menu.

Eager to sample their fare, I opted for the Philly Cheesesteak priced at $15.90, served in a banh mi baguette—a curious twist on a classic favorite. Unfortunately, the dish fell short of expectations, with the meat lacking flavour, it lacked cheese and sauce, and the bread failing to add any distinctive element to the dish.

In addition to the Philly Cheesesteak, my companions and I ordered a selection of items, including a burger (their Burger Obsession for $14.90), onion rings ($4.60), and popcorn chicken ($9.90), accompanied by a Strawberry Orange Jasmine Tea priced at $7.20. While the burger showed some promise, it wasn’t enough against a lackluster field of dishes from the overcooked onion rings to bland popcorn chicken. The dishes ultimately failed to deliver on taste, leaving us underwhelmed and dissatisfied.

The Strawberry Orange Jasmine Tea, touted as a refreshing beverage option, proved to be a disappointment. Not only was the flavour insipid, but the presence of large orange seeds posed a potential choking hazard—a glaring oversight that marred the dining experience.

While JetGo Burgers offers claw catchers and a vibrant ambiance, the overall dining experience fell short of expectations. Despite the restaurant’s popularity among patrons seeking milk teas and bingsu desserts, my family lunchtime getaway on the weekend left much to be desired. I feel this place is geared towards young adults, such as university students or high school students.

JetGo Burgers and Dessert Culture failed to impress with its lackluster offerings and inconsistent flavours. While the restaurant shows potential with its colourful menu and a venue that might do good on simple foods, it falls short of delivering a memorable dining experience—a disappointing outcome for those seeking a satisfying culinary adventure in Clayton.
