Luke’s Vietnamese is found along Puckle Street, the main street to and from Moonee Ponds Train Station. I came across Luke’s Vietnamese by chance when I visited Monee Ponds by train and saw an unusually long queue. At that moment, I didn’t have time, so I made a mental note to pick up a banh mi on the way back. So I managed to pick up a banh mi on the way back.
Highlights | Try their Signature Roll with Crispy Pork and Lemongrass Beef for $10. It is really good. |
Cost | $10 for Luke’s Signature Roll |
Location | 11 Puckle Street, Moonee Ponds VIC 3039 |
The walk down Puckle Street is good, because there are a decent number of stores, including well known franchises. There is a surprising number of shops, including cafes, restaurants, boutique stores, along this street.
I came back to the store at 4 pm and noticed I’d just came after the storm because of the meats, salads and condiments looked close to empty but most of the things remaining still looked super scrumptious. I noticed that even most of their cakes, treats had disappeared – with only two jam donuts left on the top shelf.
I didn’t spend too long looking at the well designed menu board before making my order.
I ordered their Signature Roll for $10 which came with Roast Pork and their Lemongrass Beef. I couldn’t eat at the time, so I brought the roll back home. Both meats were so good, even after an hour after bringing it back home. Their Roast Pork is crispy and their Lemongrass Beef is well seasoned and tasty. It’s much better than some of the other banh mi places I’ve visited. And the price wasn’t too bad too.
This place is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
