Paramount Egg House and Indian Restaurant can be seen close to the Springvale Junction intersection of Princes Highway and Springvale Road. This junction is well known for its hecticness as well as the location of several car crashes and traffic chaos. Luckily, if you are coming from the south-east you can skip the intersection entirely by taking a turn at a dividing strip before the intersection. Paramount Egg House and Indian Restaurant offers a great range of curries, naan, egg dishes, biryani, and various Indian delicacies.

The best option is to travel by car. There is the option to take the highway bus that travels along Princes Highway. Taking the train is probably not a good idea, since the closest train station, Springvale Station, is at least 30 minutes walking distance.
The restaurant looks pretty dated and old on the outside. There is parking in the rear for about 6 cars with both a front and back entrance.
We visited on a Friday night and parked in the rear, The rear door has a sign asking visitors to enter through the front entrance, but the front entrance has only steps which makes it difficult for anyone with wheels. If you have wheels, it’s best to head through the back and they did encourage it with our pram.
The interior of the restaurant was neat and well presented. It looks like a venue people could throw a party or have nice dinner conversations.
Before visiting, we noticed that the Google Reviews had a rating of about 4.6 with over 1,300 reviews. So we suspected the whole experience to be pretty good. And that happened to be true.
We started off with their Mango Lassi, which was already pre-prepared in jugs. The Mango Lassi was delicious with just the right amount of sweetness, milkiness, and mango flavour.
We ordered their Butter Chicken Curry, Fish Korma Curry, Rice, and Cheese and Garlic Naan. It’s probably a tad outrageous to order Cheese on Naan, since its not authentic but it was a delicious option and I simply don’t regret it.
Growing up, I was introduced to a lot of Indian dishes because my family had worked at more lavish Indian restaurants. I recall enjoying fluffy naan, juicey seekh kebab, and flavoursome curries, and still can’t forget about my first incident having beef vindaloo and cooling my mouth down with yogurt.
We thoroughly enjoyed the dishes. The Butter Chicken was definitely the better of the two curries, while the Fish Korma was still really good.
We shared the dishes and were mightily impressed with the food and the atmosphere at the same time. I think I’ll have to make a return trip one day.
