Navigating the traffic to cross the road can be a bit of a juggle, but once you’re in, you’ll find the café conveniently close to Cheltenham Station, tucked away on the quieter side of the train tracks.
Step inside and you’ll be greeted by a comfortably rustic atmosphere. The ceiling’s been lifted, revealing the charmingly raw, corrugated steel roofing. It adds a touch of character to the space.
The menu is quintessentially brunch, featuring delights like smashed avocado, egg scramble, toasts, rolls, and burgers. Complementing your order with a cup of freshly brewed coffee or a pot of tea is highly recommended. They’ve also thoughtfully put together a menu for the little ones.
Our choices for the day were the delectable Lamb Scramble priced at $23 and the equally tempting Pumpkin and Halloumi Fritters, which came in at $22.50.
A relaxed place for a laid-back brunch
The lamb was tender from its slow-cooking, served alongside vibrant spinach and roasted pumpkin on a hearty slice of sourdough. It stole the show as the standout dish.
The Pumpkin and Halloumi Fritters came adorned with crispy bacon, creamy avocado, and a perfectly poached egg. To complement the meal, a latte was in order, and they thoughtfully included a delightful cookie.
We also ventured into the kids’ menu territory, opting for the waffles with ice-cream, a delightful steal at $8. A babyccino was added to the mix, served in a generously sized paper cup, frothing over with creamy goodness.
