Bingsoo in Springvale offers bingsu, waffles, pancakes and hot chips. It’s a place to hang in the evening after dinner and is a great addition to the area. The size of the bingsu is big and it’s better to order to share between two to four people.

If you don’t know, bingsu, a popular dessert hailing from South Korea, is a frozen treat made from finely shaved milk ice and topped with syrup and other sweet toppings. Common variations include classics like red bean paste, condensed milk, and mochi, but can also include fresh fruits, chocolate, matcha, or even coffee. Bingsu is an embodiment of South Korea’s culinary innovation.
$18.50 for a bingsu or $14.99 for waffles!
It seems like a popular destination on a Friday and Saturday evening.
During my visit, I placed my order at the counter and received a small discount by paying in cash. I ordered a chocolate fudge cup bingsu with oreo, a brownie and vanilla ice-cream. The topping is decent and there is enough syrup on top, but in the middle I thought there was too much shaved milk and not enough syrup. There is syrup at the base which brings back some flavour and excitement. I wished they did more to make the middle bits more interesting.
If you want a really good venue for bingsu, I highly recommend Scoopy in Glen Waverley or the city.
