Stayed a night at the Executive Club Suite at Crown Towers Melbourne due to a special offered by Qantas during a special promotional period. We have been meaning to give Crown Towers Melbourne a go given it has been around for a while, and my limited experience was when I was kid visiting a friend staying in one of the standard rooms. We’ve stayed at the equivalent in Crown Towers Perth back in 2020.
We booked for two adults and our two year old. We didn’t need a cot for her sleep, but if we wanted to add a cot we had to pay an additional AUD$55.
When we arrived at Crown Casino, we decided to park in the all-day parking which is only $16 for 24 hours. In terms of checking in, we had access to the Crystal Club on floor 3 so all we had to do was take the elevator up and check in the foyer of the Crystal Club. Since it was busy when we arrived, the attendants were happy for us to sit in the Crystal Club lounge while we waited. We were offered drinks, including tea and coffee. Plus we had assistance with kids chair and kids meal. The Crystal Club afternoon tea starts from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
We ordered tea and juices for the table while marveling the terrace and the immaculate lounge. The afternoon tea was served with scones, sandwiches and tasty tarts and rolls. It was really delicious and eased us for the day ahead.
We were given two key cards for our room high up. When we ordered, the curtains opened to reveal a nice panorama of Melbourne’s Southbank. The room had plenty of light and an excellent lounge set-up. The mini bar was stacked with heaps of treats, but left no room in the fridge for other things. (Some things are complimentary, but most of the items had to be paid for on leaving the room.)
As part of booking during a promotion, we were given a bottle of French champagne in an ice bucket and Koko Black chocolates. By sheer mistake, we had a door knock not long after settling and we were also given another bottle of French champagne and more Koko Black chocolates.
The Executive Club Suite room is spacious and elegant. Like most Crown Towers rooms we had a television in the bathtub. The television had over 100 channels, including cable channels. There was so much to watch.
Before evening dinner, we used the indoor pool, but it was very packed on the day we visited. There is a sauna, but it gets very crowded as well. The indoor pool is lots of fun. The hotel provides the towels. In the same area there is a gym which you can access if you have the right workout clothes.
For dinner, we were treated to canapes based on Indian cuisine. This was quite a different experience to the offering when we stayed at Crown Towers Perth. We picked some comfortable sofas, ordered some alcohol/mocktails, and enjoyed the whole canape selection. We started with poppadum and delicious seasoned peanuts. Then we had cold canapes and hot canapes. I really enjoyed both sets, but found the potato fritter with coconut chutney, crispy prawn and chicken skewer with mint yoghurt to be winners. We were allowed to order another hot canapes.
Our two year old was given chicken nuggets and chips, which were cooked to perfection. I finished the night with an iced chocolate.
I really enjoyed the night. It’s so worth it staying at the Crystal Club lounge and kids under 2 years old can join without additional charge.
While I would have wanted breakfast at the Conservatory, breakfast is only offered in the Crystal Club (but similar dishes to what is offered at the Conservatory). For breakfast, you can select from the a la carte menu and the buffet selection. On the a la carte menu, there was a selection of dishes to choose from such as different variety of eggs and zucchini/corn fritter. In addition, there was also a lot of pastries, fruit, yogurt and cereal to choose from as well to add to your breakfast.
I ordered some tea and coffee plus their Eggs Florentine (which has creamed spinach on top) and Zucchini and Corn fritter. Both dishes were sensational!
Overall, I had an unbelievable experience doing a staycation at Crown Towers Melbourne. It was so much fun with plenty to do. If I wanted, I could even head into the casino complex to do shopping or do mini golf at Holey Moley, take part in karaoke or even an escape room.
