Kanazawa is a beautiful city, where most of the main attractions are close to the shinkansen stop at Kanazawa Station. Hotel Vista Kanazawa was an impressive hotel for many reasons. It was modern and up-to-date, under AUD$100 a night, and was 10 minutes walking from Kanazawa Station, albeit away from the main attractions.
Kanazawa is home to beautiful gardens in several different parts of the city, the famous Kanazawa castle (with its adjoining park) and several feudal Japanese sites, like the Meiji’s Myouryuji (or Ninja Temple) and Nagamachi Samurai District.
To get to the hotel, all we had to do was walk down the main road. You can get all your amenities at Kanazawa Station, which is also hope to several shopping complex with their own cinemas and restaurants. At the shopping complex, Kanazawa Forus, we bought tickets at the Aeon Cinema to watch Spiderman: Far From Home with English voices and Japanese subtitles. The tickets were on par with ticket prices in Australian cinemas.
The hotel itself was really nice. We booked a superior double room and was happy to see that it was bigger than the standard Japanese hotel room. In particular, the bathroom wasn’t compact with everything squashed so closely together. We were happy that the toilet/the bathroom sink and the shower/bath were separated from one another.
The television had the standard channels and coffee machine in the room (though I don’t drink coffee). The other nice amenity was the tablet, which showed all the local attractions, including popular restaurants and things to do.
While there wasn’t many freebies, the room was really nice. It was more spacious and all the necessary things were in the room. Though I would have liked a free bottle of water, it wasn’t a big loss.
The hotel is also home to a really good onsen for guests. It was of the best hotel onsens I have seen at an affordable hotel. It was clean and had plenty of options for bathing.
We booked this hotel on Expedia.
