Situated on the same floor as the bustling Social Quarter, TGI Fridays Chadstone holds court in a prime location, offering patrons a taste of classic American diner fare with a modern vibe. With its vibrant ambiance and balcony section overlooking the iconic Godiva sphere, this restaurant beckons diners to indulge in the experience on offer and to spend lavishly without a care in the world.
Upon stepping into TGI Fridays Chadstone, one can’t help but be transported to a quintessential American diner, complete with retro-inspired décor and a lively atmosphere. The restaurant exudes an inviting charm, making it the perfect destination for families and friends looking to enjoy a memorable dining experience. It’s clean, almost pristine with lots of workers helping on the floor looking busy.
Highlights | There are usually lots of workers on the floor to help out, but it feels more for show then genuine wanting to get things done. We asked for water three times with different waiters before someone eventually came round. At the same time, waiters would come check to see how the meals were and if we needed anything… Otherwise the food is pretty standard and way too expensive. Just remember that you are paying for an experience, not to feed yourself. |
Cost | $30 – $60 per person $100 – $150 for two people |

During our weekend visit, we noticed a plethora of staff bustling about, eager to attend to the needs of guests. However, it was apparent that some staff members were preoccupied with personal conversations, detracting slightly from the overall dining experience. Nonetheless, we appreciated the thoughtful touch of kids’ activity packs, complete with colouring books and pencils, provided to keep younger guests entertained.
Although the staff periodically checked in on us, their attentiveness felt somewhat lacking, particularly when we had to request water multiple times before it was delivered. Despite this minor hiccup, we were delighted to witness another table receive the jovial crew emerge to serenade a patron celebrating their birthday—a heartwarming gesture that added to the restaurant’s lively atmosphere and customer experience.
As we perused the menu, we couldn’t help but notice the steep prices, with most mains hovering around $25 or higher. Coupled with the surcharge, dining at TGI Fridays Chadstone proved to be a costly affair, making it challenging to find reasonably priced options. Undeterred, we opted for a Cheeseburger and Fries from the kids’ menu, along with a decadent Oreo shake, and a chicken burrito plate.
While the Cheeseburger and Fries proved to be a satisfying choice, the chicken burrito plate left much to be desired. Disappointingly, the dish contained only a scant amount of chicken, failing to live up to our expectations. The dish’s constituent parts were just satisfactory but nothing seemed well done or worthy of a repeat taste. (We felt it could have made it better and fresher at home for under $10, since we could add as much chicken and avocado as we wanted!)
TGI Fridays Chadstone offers a somewhat nostalgic glimpse into the world of American dining, albeit at a steep price. While it may not be our first choice for dining, it remains an experience worth indulging in occasionally if you want to splash the cash and see Chadstone from up high. So, if you find yourself craving classic American fare and don’t care about the steep price of entry amidst a vibrant atmosphere, be sure to pay a visit to TGI Fridays Chadstone.
