However, it’s well worth the journey. This fish and chip joint has garnered accolades in the past, a testament to its quality.

On our visit, we were drawn by the Thomas the Tank Engine festival for kids at the nearby Bellarine Railway’s Queenscliff Station, which is conveniently within walking distance from Trident Fish Bar—just a leisurely 6-minute stroll away.
The menu at Trident is diverse, offering an array of options, from fresh seafood to fish and chip deals, battered seafood combos, souvlaki, burgers, potato twists, and even bubble tea. The variety ensures there’s something to satisfy every palate.
Opting for the Fisherman’s Basket at $30, we were treated to a delightful spread that included 2 prawns, 2 scallops, 2 fish bites, 2 calamari rings, a generous serving of chips, tartare sauce, and a fresh lemon wedge. The quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite, with the calamari boasting a particularly satisfying crunch.
A well-known popular fish and chip shop in Queenscliff
While the food was undoubtedly a highlight, the seating inside the shop is somewhat limited, and there are no restroom facilities on site. It’s a minor inconvenience, but certainly worth noting.
Trident Fish Bar is a quintessential fish and chip establishment that lives up to its reputation. For a delectable meal with fresh, quality ingredients, it’s well worth the journey. This is a must-visit spot for any fish and chips enthusiast, especially when in Queenscliff.
