Carrum Station Charcoal Chicken – Carrum – popular chicken shop by a train station
Located on McLeod Road, right across from Carrum Train Station and within walking distance of Carrum Beach, Carrum Station Charcoal Chicken is a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike. While the idea of taking charcoal chicken to the beach sounds tempting, the risk of sand ruining hot chips makes it less ideal for a seaside meal.

| Highlights | Carrum Station Charcoal Chicken offers tasty, no-frills comfort food with fast service. Tender chicken, fresh salads, and decent chips make it a local favorite. |
| Cost | $13.50 for quarter chicken and chips $44.90 for the family pack with 1x large chicken, extra large chips, medium salad and 1.25 litre drink |

Menu & Food Quality
The menu offers all the staples of a classic chicken shopโcharcoal chicken, souvlaki, burgers, salads, and a selection of fried favorites like seafood sticks, nuggets, and potato cakes. However, fried chicken lovers may be disappointed as itโs missing from the lineup.
We ordered:
- Half chicken and chips with two salads ($20.90)
- Mixed souvlaki with lamb and chicken ($16.90)
- Medium chips ($8)
The charcoal chicken was tender and flavorful, and the salads (seafood salad and pesto pasta) were fresh and enjoyable. The chips had decent crunch but could have been crispier.

Service & Atmosphere
The service was impressively fast, thanks to a well-staffed counter. The shopโs popularity is easy to understandโgood food, efficient service, and a convenient location make it a solid choice for a quick, satisfying meal.

Final Verdict
Carrum Station Charcoal Chicken delivers quality, no-frills comfort food at reasonable prices. While it could improve on its chipsโ crunch factor and expand its fried chicken offerings, it remains a reliable choice for locals craving a hearty meal.
