Running from mid-November to January, this experience is a burst of freshness and flavor that captivates the senses. Sometimes the season finishes earlier, so it’s best to book and get in early. Situated far from the city, Cherryhill Orchards is accessible only by car. Onsite parking is available, albeit with an entry fee before entering the main picnic/park site. The cherry-picking adventure begins with a bus ride to the cherry trees in the main picnic/park site, and while the queue for the bus can be extensive, the experience that follows is well worth the wait. (I highly recommend, if you are in a large group, having something join the queue as soon as possible.)

The main site at Cherryhill Orchards is a picturesque open park area, perfect for unwinding with friends and family. However, it’s advisable to bring your own picnic essentials—mats, food, chairs, and shades—since the publicly available seating tends to fill up quickly. The atmosphere is vibrant, creating a perfect backdrop for a leisurely day outdoors.

The main site offers a variety of options, from food trucks serving delectable treats to the orchard’s own tuck shop offering cherry soft serve and soda. While the choices may be somewhat limited, the quality of the offerings adds a flavourful touch to your cherry adventure. (I thought the cherry soda was okay, but definitely recommend the cheery soft serve.)

To make the most of your visit, it’s recommended to pre-purchase cherries online. Not only does this guarantee a discount, but it also streamlines the checkout process. For those who prefer spontaneity, cherries can be purchased at the standard seasonal price per kilo at the site.
