Lukumama – Glen Waverley – Greek donuts with excellent toppings and maximum satisfaction

As a donut enthusiast, I couldn’t resist the temptation to indulge my taste buds at this delightful eatery. (They also have a shop in Hawthorn.)

Upon entering Lukumama, I was immediately struck by its warm and inviting atmosphere. The cafe’s rustic yet modern decor. The open kitchen concept allows patrons to catch glimpses of the donuts being freshly prepared, adding a touch of excitement to the overall experience.

The star of the show at Lukumama, undoubtedly, is their exquisite array of Greek donuts, known as “loukoumades.” These bite-sized balls of bliss are perfectly cooked to a golden brown, boasting a delightful balance of crispiness on the outside and a fluffy, tender center. Served piping hot and generously drizzled with an assortment of mouthwatering toppings, from traditional honey and cinnamon to more adventurous choices like Nutella and crushed pistachio nuts, each donut is a tantalising treat for the senses. In particular, certain donuts, for an extra fee, have either cheesecake, coconut or custard filling.

The staff at Lukumama are welcoming and attentive. When their self-serve water area was running low, the staff helped refill it and filled some cups for our table.

Considering the quality of the food, the inviting ambiance, and the exceptional service, the prices at Lukumama are reasonable and offer excellent value for money. The portion sizes are satisfying, and the delightful taste of their donuts makes every bite worth savoring. A box of 5 balls for $8 and 10 balls for $12.

I’ve tried their Baklavades with Honey, Pistachio Paste and Crushed Pistachio and their Blueberry with vanilla cheesecake filling and blueberry jam. Both were exquisite and we were treated to one or two extra donuts!
