Dakao Hoang – Springvale – a go-to Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of Springvale

For as long as I can remember Dakao Hoang has been around in Springvale as a bastion of great Vietnamese dishes. Dakao Hoang does Com Tam, Pho, Bun, Salads, and so many more Vietnamese dishes. If you are ever looking for a stable choice for the family, Dakao Hoang is the place to dine.

Dakao Hoang boasts an extensive Vietnamese menu. One of the better dishes are their dried egg noodle and choice of meat dishes, they tend to prefer using the thick egg noodles and often pair the noodles with a delicious oyster and hoisin sauce glaze. When you order any dry noodle dish, whether egg or rice noodles, you get it paired with a small bowl of soup – so you don’t miss out on the soup if you don’t order the noodle soup variant.

Every time we visit, we tend to just walk in. It can be a little hard to get through the front door with a pram, but it can usually host a family of four pretty easily.

I’ve seen the Dakao Hoang change over the 20 plus years its been around. Little has changed with the menu, the owners are still the same, and its still offering delicious Vietnamese cuisine.

The restaurant can be packed on Friday nights, most of Saturday and during the day on Sundays.

Despite it being a popular joint, its prices are still relatively affordable and within reason.

You won’t go wrong with most of their menu. I’d definitely remember their dry egg noodles variants if its your first time, but otherwise they do everything well.
