Ambiance and Setting
Upon entering Fidels, guests are greeted by an elegant interior featuring comfortable seating, plush sofas, and a cozy fireplace. The ambiance is reminiscent of Havana’s lively streets, enhanced by color-drenched décor and Latin music. An outdoor terrace offers spectacular city views, providing an ideal setting to sip on Cuban-influenced cocktails and soak up the Caribbean atmosphere in the heart of Melbourne.

Ordering and Service
Fidels offers flexible ordering options. To earn Crown Reward points, orders must be placed at the counter. Alternatively, guests can order from their seats using a QR code, though this method doesn’t accrue reward points. During our visit, we opted for the latter, enjoying the convenience of ordering from our recliner chairs and coffee table setup.

Culinary Experience
The menu at Fidels showcases classic Cuban dishes, including empanadas, croquettes, and smoked gazpacho. We sampled the Wagyu Mini Sliders ($23), Fries ($13), and Cubanos ($18 each). The fries were seasoned with a tangy spice and accompanied by a spicy mayonnaise sauce, offering a delightful kick. The Cubano, filled with pulled pork, pickles, and slices of ham between toasted white bread, was satisfying. While the food took some time to arrive, the quality and flavors made the wait worthwhile.

Additional Offerings
Fidels also features a ‘Feed Me’ 8-course set menu, highlighting dishes like Island Roll, Salted Cod Croquettes, and Pork Belly with dark rum glaze and pineapple chutney. For those seeking a weekend treat, the Bottomless Brunch offers Cuban delicacies and flowing spritz within tropical interiors.

Final Thoughts
Fidels Restaurant & Bar provides a unique dining experience that transports guests to a Caribbean oasis. The combination of flavorful Cuban cuisine, vibrant ambiance, and attentive service makes it a noteworthy destination within Melbourne’s dining scene.
