Inasal Express is located in Ella Street lane way at Melbourne Central. It’s a place that does Filipino street food for people in a rush, looking for something simple and fulfilling. It practically offers a bunch of well-known Filipino dishes on a plate with usually garlic rice. Tapsilog, Pork Belly and Filipino style chicken were on the menu.

Getting to Inasal Express is easy. You can reach it by walking into Ella Street from Elizabeth Street. It is next to Son in Law and other small restaurant outlets. The ordering process is simple, just order at the counter, help yourself to water, and find your own table. Not much more to add.
Once the food is ready, you pick it up from the counter within the restaurant. Interestingly at the counter there are some ready made drinks in drink canisters. These drinks looks tempting to order, but given I was in a rush on the day I gave them a miss.
I opted for the Tocilog which is a pork sausage for $19.90. It came with some salad, egg, sauce and garlic rice. For me, I don’t normally come across garlic rice, but it was really nice. Though I had to take a mint when I went back to the office. I have to admit that it was hard getting the sauce and the pork sausage to come together because the container for the sauce is small. I ended up pouring the sauce over the pork sausage.
The pork sausage was nice, but I only got three on the plate. I wish there were probably two more pieces. I wouldn’t say the dish was a cheap eats, but it was nice to enjoy sitting alone.
