Xing Fu Tang – Melbourne – the number 1 boba milk tea from Taiwan
Xing Fu Tang is a famous franchise from Taiwan. It first opened it’s doors in Melbourne in the corner at the busy intersection at Elizabeth Street and Lonsdale Street. The petite establishment houses a very popular version of boba that is worth trying at least once.

Highlights | Xing Fu Tang is famous for their brown sugar boba, which is made in front of patrons and are super chewy. The franchise comes from Taiwan and is way more famous in the streets of Taipei’s Ximending, and as a Melburnian I’m glad to see it. |
Cost | $7-10 for each of their drinks |
Location | 273 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 |

Boba or bubble tea is an invention made famous from the streets of Taiwan. Taiwan is now home to so many boba franchises that they have traversed worldwide and is a popular drink throughout the globe. One of the more famous brands is Xing Fu Tang which has its main store in the bustling Taipei district of Ximending.

What make’s Xing Fu Tang’s boba special is that the pearls or the tapioca balls are made fresh in a wok before patrons eyes. If you visit, it’s recommended that you try their Brown Sugar Boba because it essentially captures all the best parts of their drink, from the addition of the brown sugar pearls, fresh milk, milk foam and topped with a brulee (made using a blowtorch).
It’s always exciting getting to savour a boba from this franchise and it’s worth visiting with friends. I’d recommend grabbing one of their drinks and walking around the city with your drink in hand.
