Keysborough Bar & Grill – Keysborough – steaks, skewers, and pizza
Keysborough Bar & Grill is a standalone restaurant tucked away in an industrial area along Cheltenham Road. The location feels a little out of place for a bar and grill, but once inside, the warm hospitality of the Indian family running the restaurant creates a welcoming atmosphere. They’ve put effort into the interiors, with indoor plants, stylish touches, and a large flat-screen TV visible from all tables.

A Limited But Affordable Menu
Despite the name, the menu is not focused on an extensive selection of steaks. Instead, it offers a mix of grilled meats, fast-food-style options like souvlaki, pizza, and burgers, making it more of a casual eatery than a traditional steakhouse.
On a quiet Friday night, we had no trouble securing a large table overlooking Cheltenham Road. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, though another family joined later. The prices were quite reasonable, which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered the following:
- Lamb Open Plate ($20.90) – Served with a generous portion of chips, lamb, onions, spinach, blue cheese sauce, tzatziki, and hummus.
- Angus American Burger ($11.90) – Featuring a beef patty, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, jalapeños, BBQ sauce, mustard sauce, and grilled onions.
- Kids Meal ($11.90) – Four chicken nuggets, chips, and apple juice.

A Mixed Bag of Flavors
When the food arrived, the first thing we noticed was the large portion of chips. While the quantity was impressive, they could have been crispier. The burger seemed like great value for the price, packed with ingredients and a solid combination of flavors.
The lamb on the open plate was a bit inconsistent—some pieces were incredibly tender, while others were a little tough. The blue cheese sauce and tzatziki added a nice flavor contrast, but the lamb could have been seasoned more evenly.
Service and Atmosphere
The service was friendly and accommodating. Given how quiet the restaurant was, we didn’t have to wait long for our food. The large TV in the foyer made for a relaxed, casual dining experience.

Final Thoughts
Keysborough Bar & Grill is a bit of an odd find, given its location in an industrial area, but it offers affordable food, generous portions, and friendly service. While the food had its highs and lows, it was still a decent meal for the price. If you’re in the area and craving a laid-back meal with good value, it’s worth checking out.
