Nestled in the south-eastern suburb of Keysborough, far from Melbourne’s central business district, Street Food Turkey stands as a popular Turkish café renowned for its delectable cuisine and vibrant atmosphere. During peak lunch and dinner hours, the café buzzes with activity, drawing crowds eager to experience its authentic Turkish flavours, whether dining in or opting for takeaway.
Despite its popularity, Street Food Turkey is not a spacious establishment, with limited seating and tables available for patrons. However, what it lacks in space, it more than makes up for with its mouthwatering Turkish delicacies, particularly its impeccably crafted kebabs, which are a standout feature of the menu. The succulent meats, expertly basted and accompanied by flavourful sauces, have earned the café a loyal following among food enthusiasts.

While the menu at Street Food Turkey may lean towards the pricier side and the portion sizes may be smaller than expected, the quality of the dishes speaks for itself. Our order of the Mixed Meal for $38, supplemented by a serving of small chips for $6, showcased the diverse range of flavours and textures that Turkish cuisine has to offer. Although the meal no longer includes Turkish bread as stated in the old menu, the generous servings of chicken wings, kofta, chicken shish, and lamb shish, accompanied by white rice, bulgur, salad, and a choice of two dips, provided a satisfying dining experience.
Dining in, we found the meats to be tender and flavourful, while the accompanying chips were generously portioned, making for a satisfying meal. The dips, in particular, stood out for their rich and authentic flavours, adding an extra dimension to the dining experience.
Street Food Turkey offers a tantalising glimpse into the rich tapestry of Turkish cuisine, showcasing the bold flavours and traditional recipes that have made it a favourite among locals and visitors alike. While the menu prices may be higher and portion sizes smaller than anticipated, the quality of the food and the inviting atmosphere make it a worthwhile dining destination. For those seeking a taste of Turkey in the heart of Keysborough, Street Food Turkey promises a culinary journey that delights the senses and leaves a lasting impression.
