Kori Ice Cream – Japanese inspired ice cream and handcrafted in Hawthorn

Kori Ice Cream is a must visit for any ice cream connoisseur. It is a riveting place, because it’s close to all the important parts in Hawthorn and is breaming with customers all the way into the night. Kori serves around 24 flavours each day, with some plant based and others milk based.

HighlightsSuper popular ice cream parlour along Glenferrie Road. Kori Ice Cream closes pretty late on Friday and Saturday at 11:00 pm

The parlour uses premium ingredients and claims it has no added colours or artificial flavours. Most of the flavours are based on very Japanese flavours like yuzu, matcha and hojicha.

What I love about the parlour is simply how many flavours you can try before you commit to anything.

On the day, they were celebrating Halloween and so flavours like Curried Pumpkin and Honey Pumpkin Choc were on offer. I tried both and thought they were very flavoursome, but wasn’t sure if I wanted a whole serve of pumpkin flavoured ice cream to round off my night.

So I opted for Hokkaido Cheesecake and Matcha Pistachio. While the Matcha Pistachio was excellent, I thought the Hakkaido Cheesecake was the real winner. It was a new flavour for me, and it was just so good. I highly recommend giving it a go.

My friends and colleagues have recommended their Yuzu flavour.

If you are not sure, Kori do list that their top flavours:

  1. Fuji Apple,
  2. Hojicha
  3. Miso
